There are a few simple things that as the homeowner we ask you to agree to in this program:

1. Prudent use of windows and doors when the HVAC system is in use.
2. Operate the HVAC system according to the manufacturer's recommendation including routine maintenance.
3. Change the HVAC and vent filters as recommended.
4. Maintain the thermostat settings no higher than 70 degrees during the heating season and no lower than 76 degrees in the cooling season.
5. Inform Oakwood Homes in writing within 30 days of completion of any alteration/renovation that may impact the energy efficiency of the home and may void your energy bill guarantee.
6. Maintain and submit the monthly usage tracking chart that you will receive at closing along with supporting documentation if you have a claim.
7. If energy usage is above pre-determined amount, for the 1st year submit claims within 60 days following your 1st anniversary after date of closing.  For the 2nd year of coverage, submit claims within 60 days of your 2nd year anniversary after date of closing.

*Savings are based on November 2011 electricity rates of $0.10KWH and natural gas rates of $0.73/therm.
